Coventry will soon be hit by 'heavy and thundery showers' after a week of sunny skies and balmy temperatures, says the Met Office. Forecasters have said there could also be 'thunder and lightning' in the region as conditions are set to drastically change on Monday, September 11.

Experts have said that Monday will be 'cloudy with outbreaks of heavy and thundery showers.' It will, however, feel 'slightly fresher' after a week of humid conditions throughout the UK.

Temperatures will be dropping next week with conditions becoming 'changeable.' Forecasters say the weather will be 'cooler' with rain and strong winds expected on Tuesday.

Britain has recently been trapped under a stifling 'heat dome' with temperatures exceeding 30C, reports the Daily Express. However, the 'Indian Summer' currently suffocating the UK will be coming to a crashing end as temperatures are finally set to plummet to sub-20C.

WX Charts predicts that a huge storm system will be heading straight for the UK on Sunday, September 17. A large band of wind and rain will hit the UK from Wednesday (September 13).
