A date when Nuneaton's new cinema is set to open its doors has been revealed. The Really Local Group was revealed as the firm who will run the venue on what was the old Co-op car park in Abbey Street.

Now it has been confirmed to CoventryLive that the venue will be part of the second phase of the Grayson Place development and construction is due to be completed by the end of 2024. This means that the cinema is set to open in early 2025.

There are already some of the bigger-cinema chains within the area but Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council leader, councillor Kris Wilson said the new venue "will be more than your usual high street cinema".

It will have five screens for films but will also host live music and comedy. The venue will be open throughout the day and will also have a community space as well as a coffee shop/bar along with pop-up shops for local food and produce.

On the Grayson Place page on Facebook, it explained: "We’ve undergone this project to bring more activities for families and individuals to the town centre, so you can have a jam-packed day and night out right at your doorstep. The heart of this project is the local community, which is why we’re excited that Really Local Group are coming to Nuneaton as they work exclusively with local designers on their project and only hire locally."

The Nuneaton venue is the Really Local Group's first major project outside London and the south east. So far it has created Peckham Levels, Ealing Project and Reading Biscuit Factory and the Grayson Place venue will be the first in the Midlands and north area.
