Earlsdon

Earlsdon is a residential suburb in the southwest of Coventry. A former centre of the watch-making industry and home to a large population of university students and academics, Earlsdon was the birthplace of jet engine inventor Sir Frank Whittle. The area expanded after Albany Road was opened as a vital access route in 1897. Earlsdon is also a larger council ward that includes War Memorial Park.
