A packed programme of free kids sessions are being held at Nuneaton's museum this summer. There will be sessions held three times a week, every week, during the school summer holidays.

According to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council from Tuesday, August 1 to Thursday, August 31, visitors can take part in three activities every week. There will be 'Makes on Tuesdays' when the museum is offering drop-in sessions between 10.30am and 3.30pm to make a number of different creations.

'Trails on Wednesdays' sees a new trail around the museum each Wednesday. Those wishing to follow the trail just need to pick up a map from reception during opening hours.

'Tales on Thursdays' feature storytelling sessions from Red Phoenix, Richard York, Peter Chand and Tom the Tale Teller. Sessions start at 11am, 12 noon, 2pm and 3pm.

Councillor Sue Markham, cabinet member for public services, said: "This is a great programme of activities for youngsters throughout the entire month. It can be difficult to keep children busy during the summer holidays, but these sessions will be a great source of entertainment.

"There are activities going on throughout the year at our museum as well as some wonderful exhibitions and displays and I urge everyone to visit this excellent facility.’"

The sessions: All you need to know

No booking is needed for sessions but people are being urged to arrive promptly. Children should be accompanied by an adult.

All of the activities are free but donations are welcome. While at the Riversley Park-based venue, visitors can also check out the permanent and visiting exhibitions.
