Coventry and Warwickshire should brace itself to bask in a blast of Indian Summer. According to the latest local Met Office report, the unseasonably warm October weather is on its way to our region.

The local forecast predicts that our region will see 21C highs this Saturday (October 7) and Sunday (October 8). The mercury will gradually rise throughout the week, heading into the warm weekend.

Some parts of the country could see highs of 25C reports the Mirror, as warm weather sweeps the nation. Here in Coventry and Warwickshire the run-up to the weekend will see a mixture of sunshine and showers.

The forecast for the week so far is as follows:

Today

Some early brightness with mist and fog patches clearing, otherwise becoming widely cloudy on Monday with further outbreaks of rain or showers, turning heavy and possibly thundery at times. Still rather mild though cooler under the rain. Maximum temperature 18C.

Tonight

Staying damp into the evening with persistent rain, heavy at times, moving eastwards. Becoming drier overnight with some clearer spells by dawn. Minimum temperature 10C.

Tuesday

Brighter on Tuesday with sunnier intervals and a few showers, mainly in the north. Feeling fresher with temperatures closer to average and breezier through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunny spells and a few showers on Wednesday and breezy. Some bright interludes on Thursday and Friday with some showers. Temperatures gradually warming by the end of the week.
