Football legend Mick McCarthy is set for an evening in Coventry where he will speak about his greatest moments in football. The former Ireland football manager will appear at Christ the King Club for a special one-off event in November.

The former player is one of the most straight-talking and respected figures in football. His career has taken him from playing for Barnsley in 1977 to leading Ireland as manager to the World Cup in Japan in 2002.

As a player, McCarthy represented Ireland more than 57 times, playing alongside the renowned Paul McGrath in defence and captaining the side at the 1990 World Cup. Now, in a rare appearance, the 64-year-old will discuss all things football, including managing Ireland at the World Cup 21 years ago, on November 3.
