A couple with 25 years of experience in the trade have made a fresh promise ahead of the relaunch of their chip shop. Simon Mather and his partner Sermin have taken over Whitemoor Road Chippy in Kenilworth.

And the pair, originally from Nottinghamshire, have made a pledge to prospective punters. "Everything we will do will be made fresh each and everyday," Simon said. "We will be doing a whole new menu from homemade onion rings to homemade southern fried chicken with the meat being bought from the local butchers near to the shop.

"We will be doing specials, from school kiddie trays to kebab house specials, and also a gluten-free range." The couple intend to reopen in the next couple of weeks.

"We are just having a few things sorted out inside firstly rather than open with teething issues," Simon added. "We have over 25 years' experience in the fish and chip shop trade so hopefully we know what we are doing by now!"

Simon posted about the relaunch on the Kenilworth Vibes Facebook page and said he was blown away by the positive response. "The interaction with that post - I’ve never seen before," he said.

"The welcoming we got through that post - it's reassuring how nice and loyal Kenilworth really is. Thank you." Simon and Sermin are now looking to recruit experienced staff.

They're looking to hire lunchtime and evening service staff as well as a delivery driver from around 4.30pm to 9pm. Anyone interested in any of the vacancies can contact Simon on email at Smather78@hotmail.co.uk
