A photographer 'got lucky' when he managed to capture the Northern Lights in their glowing glory in North Warwickshire. Weather photographer Jack March headed to Nether Whitacre in the North Warwickshire countryside to try to capture the spectacle last night (September 18).

"I got lucky to see them before all this cloud came in," he said. "I headed into the countryside to try to get away from light pollution for the best chance at getting some good photographs."

The Met Office has said that the places to catch the Northern Lights are those where there is little light pollution. This is because it gives a much higher chance of seeing them from a rural area.

It is not the first time his pictures have caught the eye. He went to the top of Hartshill Hayes and managed to capture the colourful light display earlier this year.
