A former Post Office building in Coventry could be turned into new takeaway. A new future is being proposed for what was the old Charter Post Office building at 290 Charter Avenue.

A planning application to Coventry City Council asks for permission for change of use from a post office to a takeaway. It also asks for the green light for a brick-built side extension and enclosed bin store to the rear.

It would be in the vacant building as the Charter Post Office moved just a few doors down to 282-286 Charter Avenue back in August. The application includes a number of documents, including how the extension to the building would look.

But they do not contain any information about what sort of new takeaway it will be. It explains in the application letter that it is a vacant building and that the new venture would be open from 11am until 10pm on Monday to Fridays.

It would be open from 11am until 10pm on Saturdays and from 12noon until 10pm on Sundays. The application is now being looked at by the planning team at the city council.

The application, including all of the documents, can be viewed on the council's website, under the planning section, searching for application number PL/2023/0001989/FUL. Comments can be made on the proposals online.
