A new addition could be set to come to Coventry's West Orchards Shopping Centre in part of the old Debenhams unit. A planning application has been submitted to Coventry City Council which asked for permission to install louvres.

On closer inspection, the louvres are for signage for The Job Shop. The application itself states: "Installation of louvres on car park facing elevation as part of proposed new ventilation system works."

It adds: "Installation of new signage for The Job Shop." The Job Shop is run by the city council and is currently based in the Bull Yard.

The whole Bull Yard area has been undergoing a huge regeneration and the application indicates that the job centre-styled shop could be heading to the city's main shopping centre.

The planning application indicates that it will be based in this part of the old Debenhams store

It states that the proposal is for a current vacant unit which was previously part of Debenhams store, that occupied large parts of the shopping centre.

The Jobshop provides new access to work, education or training opportunities as well as training and advice. The minor planning application is now being looked at by planners at the city council.

The application, including all of the documents, can be viewed on the council's website, under the planning section, searching for application number PL/2023/0001934/FUL.
