Radford

Radford is a residential suburb of Coventry just north of the city centre and home to Coventry Fire Station, one of the city’s four fire stations. It became one of Coventry’s main manufacturing areas because of canal and rail infrastructure and was at the heart of the city’s motor industry. The area was a major target during the Coventry Blitz when its factories were producing munitions and vehicles for the war. Famous poet Phillip Larkin lived in Radford. The council ward of Radford includes the Canal Basin.
