Stoke

Stoke is a residential suburb in east Coventry that expanded to house wartime workers at the city’s munitions factories. The council has electoral wards for Upper Stoke and Lower Stoke. Upper Stoke includes Stoke Heath, Stoke Village, Ball Hill, Barras Heath, Courthouse Green and Wyken Green, while Lower Stoke includes Stoke, Stoke Aldermoor and Gosford Green. Pop music producer Pete Waterman was born and raised in Burlington Road, Stoke, while the car chase in Hollywood movie The Italian Job was filmed in sewer pipes at Stoke Aldermoor.
