A Warwickshire house understood to have been at the centre of an organised county lines drugs ring has been shut down by police. Officers from Warwickshire Police and Warwick District Council secured a closure order on a property in Briar Close, Leamington Spa, after people living in the area expressed concern it was being used as a base to distribute drugs.

"Our colleagues at Warwick District Council assisted by Leamington Police have today secured a closure order on a property in Briar Close, Leamington," a Leamington Police spokesperson said on Thursday (14). "This comes after intelligence was received that the property was associated with county lines drug dealing and a warrant was executed earlier this month.

"The tenants at the property have now been removed and nobody will be permitted to enter the house for three months." It's the second Leamington property to be shut down by police in a matter of weeks over concerns about drug dealing.

A property in Aylesford Court, on Aylesford Street, that had been linked to drug dealing and anti-social behaviour concerns was served with a closure notice. The tenant was informed on May 24 and a full closure order was granted two days later at Coventry Magistrates' Court enabling police to shut the property and prohibit all access.

The tenant was removed and the property secured to 'prevent further issues', Warwickshire Police said.
